Don's Band

We are at the Beach House in Cardiff by the Sea watching our surf
friend, Don, play the bass in the blues band he is in. It is very nice
out as the sun is going down. There are very large windows from our
awesome seat so we can see both the band and ocean. You can see Don
seated right in front. He looks much different when he isn't in a
wetsuit! They sound great! Nice and mello...

Fresh fish

Fresh fish on display at the Fish Market. Yum!

Fish Market

Staying with Paul and Angela in Carlsbad this weekend because it is
107 degrees in Riverside! Here I am in Del Mar with Paul, Angela, and
Anne. We are at the Fish Market near the racetrack. When Joe and Anne
lived in Carmel Valley, we never made it here and it was so close! It
is also right on the course for the La Jolla half marathon...food was
great!

Joe's Airplane!

Here we are at the Minneapolis airport very early in the morning.
Today, we (Anne & me) are flying back to California on Southwest and
Joe is flying to NewYork City on Sun Country. He leaves 5 minutes
before us. Here we are, sitting on our plane waiting to push back from
the gate, and Joe's plane has already pushed back a few gates down
from us. If you zoom in, you can see his Sun Country plane. We
eventually got to watch him take off. Very odd to think we will be
pulling away from each other at rapid speed this morning. We meet back
up at the same airport on Sept 1st... So that part is cool!

The Depot

Here we are on a Sunday morning at the Depot in Merrillan. This is now
a bar/restaurant that was once a very busy train stop along the "400"
from Chicago to Minneapolis. If you look closely, you can see the
allroad and Joe, Anne's Mom, and Anne's Dad in the background. After
having breakfast, we are off to head back to Minneapolis.

Project Cam download

Hi everyone! Here I am in Wisconsin at our property. Joe and Anne just
downloaded all the pictures on the ProjectCam. Took a shot from the
picnic table at the top of the hill. You can see both of the cameras
mounted in the trees off to my left. In the center of the picture, you
can also see the black river in the forest. They should really call it
the brown river! Very nice day out - puffy white clouds and around 74
degrees. I'll bet it is a little warmer in Riverside today! I sure
love it up here!

Jumping Beans!

Here I am at the John Wayne Airport waiting for our first flight on
the way to Minneapolis to see Joe! Stopped to get a snack and there
were some Mexican jumping beans at the register, so we picked them up
for Michael. Anne had some when she was little and thought they were
super-cool! And they were cheaper than the gummi lifesavers we got! I
like jumping beans!

Courtyard & California

Another shot of the complex, this is the courtyard just outside of the
urban craft center's entrance. There is a neat piece of artwork above
me and a step-down waterfall directly behind me. I thought it was cool
and very SoCal to see the lone palm tree showing behind the complex,
but I couldn't get a better angle on it so you could see part of it's
trunk...anyway, we did capture a bit of it.

It is very cool and cloudy here, around 66 degrees. Hard to believe it
is probably close to 90 in Riverside right now! I don't really like
either one so much. I believe with all the crazy places we've been, I
still prefer Wisconsin. Nice to know we've tried many places and that
is the place for us!

Outside the Craft Center

Here I am outside of the urban craft center. The complex is very
modern and industrial, just like we like our architecture!

New Yarn?!?

Here I am, drafting the fibers. Unfortunately, my bunny feet are not
long enough to reach the paddles, but that is OK because Anne can
reach them. The class is over now, and we have a little yarn to show
for it - yeah! I like spinning.

Urban Craft Center

Went to Santa Monica today with Anne to the Urban Craft Center to take
a class to learn about spinning yarn. The teacher, Anna, was very
nice, patient, and knowledgeable. There were six of us in the class
and we leaned to use both the spindle and the spinning wheel. We were
there for three hours, but it seemed like only an hour! Very cool...

Another day at the beach...

Here I am at the beach at Carlsbad. I came with Paul and Astro. Paul
went surfing while Anne and Astro went for a jog along the beach. Very
nice morning, 68 degrees and overcast with a slight breeze. There is a
very cool tree we are parked by again, too. I like observing all the
people at the beach and the waves.
